Upgrade to PI 7.4 from 7.31

Hello,

I have a PI 7.31 SPS09 System.Now customer want us to upgrade to 7.4 SPS11 (Dual Stack).They don't want a split.Special instructions are really appreciated.

Hi Mofizur,

Kindly find the equivalance level of system PI 731 sp 9 and upgrade your tagert system 740 accordingly. I think It would be 740 SP04.

@Pavan, I do not agree with your 1st post. Can you clarify it ?

i meant to say if you upgrade to 731 SP16 from 731 SP9 then you will get all the functionalites available with 740 SP11 and which will be same as 740 system.If you do not agree with me please correct me

i think if you upgrade your current PI 7.31 SP 09 to PI 7.31 SP 16 then it will be equal to the 7.4 SP 11

Do you have any reference from SAP on this.Like any SAP Note which tells this.Because Customer would want that.

1850327 - SP Equivalence for update/upgrade to SAP NW 7.4

Can you please check this note.Looks like the latest SP of 7.31 SP16 was not updated in note which was released recently

I checked the note already and it says like below..

The following table lists the SP equivalence information between the mentioned NW releases.

How to interpret the table:

The left column lists the SPS level of the installed release. The right column lists the minimum SPS level of the target release for an upgrade.

The SPS level of the installed release can always be lower than the value mentioned in the table,

and the SPS level of the target release can be higher than mentioned in the table.

For example in "SAP EhP3 for NetWeaver 7.0" release, it says that to upgrade from "SAP EhP3 for

NetWeaver 7.0" SPS 07 (or lower SPS) to "SAP NetWeaver 7.4", the correct target SPS level of "SAP

NetWeaver 7.4" is SPS 02 (or higher SPS).

SPS 07 (or lower)	SPS 02 (or higher)
SPS 08 (or lower)	SPS 03 (or higher)
SPS 09 (or lower)	SPS 04 (or higher)

As per understanding this table does not say that SPS09 NW 7.31 is EQUIVALENT to SPS04 NW 7.4.This is the minimum target stack which we require.Please correct me if I am wrong.

SPS 15 (or lower)

SPS 10 (or higher) this means your 7.3 SPS 15 is EQUIVALENT to 7.4 SPS10
