Changing read type from 3 to 4

Hi folks,

I'm following Tobias blog here;

I'm stuck on changing BSEG from type 3 load to type 4.  If I have yet to start replication for BSEG it does not exist yet for me to change from type 3 load to type 4.  If I start replication and then try to change immediately to type 4 my filters are ignored and it loads ALL data.  I tried different things like pausing replication immediately after I start the job or stopping jobs, changing read type and then restarting and nothing is working.  How can I change to type 4 prior to init job?

I'm on DMIS 2011 SPS8.

Thanks,

-Patrick

Hi Patrick,

Since you are on SP08 version, there are two ways to do it-

Option 1- tcode LTR-  >select your SLT configuration-> tab settings - > initial load mode-- set this to performance optimized setting.

This option will internally give more priority to huge tables and will set to reading type 4 or 5 based on table type.

Then start with your table replication.

(OR )

Note- tcode LTR - let your initial load mode set to"resource optimized"

Option 2- tcode- LTRS

1. Select your configuration

2. go to advanced replication settings

3. under performance options

4. add your table BSEG

5. reading type can be set accordingly

6. Then start with your table replication.

Hopefully this should answer your query.

Hi

Ok I used option 1 and indeed it worked!  The only downside is I'm assuming this will make every table that I replicate afterwards be type 4 until I change it back.

Unfortunately the bad things is my selective replication still did not work although that's really related to Tobias blog so I will close this thread.

Thanks!
