Heuristic Execution Error

Former Member

Hi Experts,

Hope you can help me with our issue in Heuristic Execution. This error is returned

"Error converting period split"

This are the diagnosis from SAP:

Diagnosis

An error occurred when converting the planning buckets profile.

A possible cause of this error is the factory that has been
defined:

The validity period of the factory calendar is not sufficient.

There are planned orders outside of the validity period of the factory
calendar.

There is no factory calendar.

However, as per checking our factory calendar has no issues as it is extended until 2030.

What could be the other causes? Please help

Thanks! Sincerely! Ria.

Hi Ria,

I had a situation when the system created orders starts with year 2050. Check if you have orders in the far future and delete them.

Thanks,

Hi Marius,

Where did you see this?  There are multiple plants in my job. 11 to be exact and it would be great if there is a table wherein I can see this. Is there any?

Thanks! Sincerely, Ria

Hi Marius,

I tried to see the orders generated in the application log and all are within the horizon. Where did you see the orders that were created starting 2050?

Thanks! Ria

Hi Ria,

Have you updated the Factory Calendar anytime recently ?

Try regenerating the time stream of the factory calendar which you were using in /sapapo/calendar.

Check the Horizon (Start and End date) of your storage bucket profile, make sure they are extended beyond the scope of your planned order end dates. if the end date is in the past then reinitialize your Planning Area.

if you're using time stream for Storage Bucket Profile , then try generating the time stream for SBP as well.

Check your Planning Bucket Profile horizon which is used in your PB.

After these changes run the heuristic for the affected part and let us know the result.

Just my thoughts, Hope this would helps you.

Regards

Vinoth

Hello,

An error message /SAPAPO/SNP 041 could be due to

  • insufficient factory calendar validity Time stream
  • planned orders outside factory calendar validity
  • factory calendar does not exist

Run Transaction /sapapo/om17

Or delete the calendar with Transaction /sapapo/calendar and re-create.

Hello Ria,

System will not generate the planned orders if the factory calendar in not in validity date.

There is no report available to check it you just need to analysis the Heuristic application log.

You can debug the process. to get the error message details and element causing it.

Or just increase validity of factory calendar and rerun the Heuristic.

Hi R Brahmankar,

Thanks! However, all my factory calendars are extended up to 2038 so am thinking that it is not the calendar. In the app log, there are no orders that is  more than the 3 year period.. Anything else I can check

Thanks again.

Sincerely, Ria
