Please, in the Find Objects in Repository Window, I would like to uncheck de check box "Case Sensitive", but it is disabled (gray color).

How can I activate it ?

Hi Karla,

Please verify if your database is case sensitive. If it is, then this is expected behavior.

When the repository connection is case-sensitive, the search is always case-sensitive.

To make this clear, the case-sensitivity check is now checked and disabled, when the connection is case-sensitive.

If you connect to a case-insensitive database, then the case-sensitive option can be enabled\disabled.

Regards,

Anthony

Hi Anthony,

What you describe explain the actual behavior of PowerDesigner.

My Oracle Repository database is not case sensitive. See my examples at b)

a) No matter the database "Name"' - the metaclass name can be set to lowercase and uppercase

b) Oracle Database allow to set Lower or Upper case to Code.

The DBMS used to store repository metadata has nothing to do with the ability to check or uncheck case sensitivity..

Remember In the PowerDesigner Repository we can store many models for many DBMS (metadata). We must be able to check or uncheck case sensitivity.

Two concepts are blend here.

**********************************************

Example :

Physical Model - Oracle 10g - Name and Code Upper / LowerCase

For me it's a bug, PowerDesigner must not disable Case Sensitive box when the Repository is keeped in Oracle...and any others Databases. PowerDesigner Find objects check metadata.

Hi Anthony,

Do you have the KBA (SAP Knowledge Support Number) ?

The CR you refer at Sybase is the following ?

Thank you,

I agree, the 'case sensitive' check box here should have nothing to do with the database. The case used in names and codes can vary from model to model, so the purpose of this check box is to indicate whether the USER wants the search to look for exact matches or case-insensitive matches.

This is an existing CR, 726341, requesting this functionality.

KBAs associated with these CRs will be published shortly.

Hi,

CTRL - ALT - F - Search in Repository

Case sensitive is checked and you can't modified

It seem the problem occur since 2010. As suggested by Georges open a ticket to SAP

CTRL-F - Case sensitive is unchecked by default - Search in local Workspace

Sorry Karla, but it works OK for me. Have you raised a support case with SAP?
