HANA Cockpit

Former Member

Hi everyone! I have a fast question

What is the user that should I use for connect to HANA cockpit?

When I launch hana cockpit from HANA studio a webpage opens

http://<host>:8000/sap/hana/xs/formLogin/login.html?x-sap-origin-location=%2Fsap%2Fhana%2Fadmin%2Fco...

but I tried to login with SYSTEM user and <sid>adm user with no success

I always got a 403 forbidden error, do I need an additional user? what kind of authorizatin do I need?

thanks in advance

From the SPS10 Security Guide:

RoleDescription
sap.hana.admin.roles::Administrator Allows users to open the SAP HANA cockpit with read-only access to monitoring data, as well as to perform database administration tasks supported by the cockpit (configure alerts, stop/start services, reset memory statistics, cancel sessions) This role also allows users to see tiles in the SAP HANA Platform Lifecycle Management tile catalog

Hi Juan Carlos,

The user should be DBACOCKPIT.

According to SAP Help this user is created during the installation of the SAP system, and has the authorizations required for DBA Cockpit. You can get more details here:

Authorizations for Using DBA Cockpit - DBA Cockpit for SAP HANA - SAP Library

You can also check out SAP Note 1640741.

Hope it helps!

Thanks Fernando, documentation is a little bit confusing for me, note says that standard user for dbacockpit is <sid>adm if system was installed after april 2013, however I only have user DBACOCKPIT in HANA SYSTEM (SP09)

These are granted roles for user DBACOCKPIT

Hi Juan Carlos,

Yes. Just to clear up, DBACOCKPIT<SID> was used in earlier SAP releases.

Cheers,

Fernando

By the way, I'm still having 403 forbidden error, any clue?
