Skip inspection lot at material & batch level:

Former Member

Hello All,

My client requirement is as follows for Skip inspection lot at material & batch level:

There is P.O. of 250 quantity. When supplier ship the goods he splits this qty into 10 shipments. This means there are 10 GRN of 25 pcs. Out of 25 pcs only 05 pcs are inspected.

So client want that whenever there is first GRN of 25 pcs, inspection lot should get generated & 05 pcs will be inspected for this batch. If the inspection is ok (Lot Accepted) then whenever there is next GRN for the same material & same batch inspection lot should not generated & material should directly go to UNR status.

In short for same material & for same batch only, first time GRN, lot should created in the system. From second GRN upto last GRN of same batch & same material, lot should not get created.

If there is rejection for first GRN then for 02nd GRN, lot should be created.

How we can achieve this? What configuration & master data is required to maintain at material & batch level.

Thanks.

Hi Pavi,

This requirement is covered in standard SAP. All you need to do is select the option "For each material, batch and storage location" in the field  Control insLot in material master inspection details for inspection type 01.

With this option selected, the system will create inspection lot for the first GR related to a material/batch combination. The subsequent GRN for same batch/material will have an inspection lot created if the previous one is rejected only.

If the first GRN is not valuated or accepted, the system won't create an inspection lot for the following GRN in same material/batch.

Hope this is what you are looking for.

Regards,

Ayoub.
