Technical Monitoring --> assigning custom template to Managed Object Name not possible

Hello guys,

we have a problem with the technical monitoring ( Monitoring Alerting Infrastructure).

We are using Solution Manager 7.1 SPS10 (10/2013).

I have a question concerning the templates . I would like create for example a custom template “DEV Systems SAP ABAP 7.10 and higher” from standard template " SAP ABAP 7.10 and higher " under "Technical System".

So far so good. I make my changes in the custom template created yourself.

But in „Setup Monitoring“ the assigned template is „SAP ABAP 7.10 and higher“ and there is a checkmark for „MO-Specific“.

When I tray to change the template to „DEV Systems SAP ABAP 7.10 and higher“ I get the following message.

"Cannot change template assignments to D27~ABAP; managed-object specific settings exist"

Can anyone tell me why and how I can assign my own created custom template to the Managed Object Name „D27~ABAP“ ?

Hello Carsten,

You are unable to change and assign custom template as MO_Specific is check marked.

Please follow below steps as suggested in SAP link

Monitoring and Alerting related FAQ - Technical Operations - SCN Wiki

If you would like to change the template assignment, following steps  need to be followed.

1. Select the Managed Object for which the MO-Specific flag is ON.

2. Click on "Maintain MO-Specific settings" link. Managed Object template would be launched.

3. Click on Expert Mode button on Managed Object template.

4. Ensure you are in edit mode.

5. Click on the "Reset all settings" button.

6.  Save the changes made.

7. On the Setup Monitoring step, click on the Refresh button.

8. MO-Specific flag would be OFF.

Now you can change the template assignment.

If this does not work please check SAP note

Try to de-activate tech mon for this system and then retry again.

Technical Monitoring -> System Monitoring -> step 'Setup Monitoring' -> click 'Configure Managed Object' (for a managed object which has the 'MO-specific' checkbox checked) edit mode -> expert mode -> click 'Reset all settings' -> save

Then try again.
