Server migration- SWPM -CI export "use database specific tool" skipped

Hello,

I am currently performing server migration and i hence need to export CI ,but SWPM/sapinst skipping "Use database specific tool "

I tried below options

- Used SWPM over sapint

- corrected profile to have DB host parameter and system/type =java in default.profile

- used SAPINST_USE_HOSTNAME= virtual host

But still there is no option "use database specific tools " appearing in SWPM .

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hello Archana,

As outlined on the Software Provisioning Manager page: what product version are you trying to export on which OS/DB platform? In higher releases (>= SAP NetWeaver 7.1x), you do no longer have to run the export with Software Provisioning Manager, but can use an existing snapshot/backup (as there is no longer any content in the file system that would have to be exported).

P.S.: You are using the term "migration", but I guess you do not plan to perform a heterogeneous system copy (for which no database-specific procedure is offered), do you?
