Personas 2.0 SP03 Silverlight Client Patches

Hi folks,

The Cumulative Patch Info Note1964257 for Personas 2.0, currently lists:

Note 2181772:  Screen Personas Silverlight Client Patch for 1.0 SP05 / 2.0 SP03

After May 28th thru mid-June, the Cumulative Patch Info Note 1964257 used to list -

Note 2173722: Screen Personas Silverlight Client Patch for 1.0 SP05 / 2.0 SP03

I see the comment " For Screen Personas Silverlight client, the patches are cumulative and hence only the latest patch should suffice. "

My question is -  Does Note 2181772 supersede Note 2173722 ?

The issues listed within Note 2181772 do not appear to cover the issues listed in Note 2173722.

Thanks for any clarification.

Jay.

Hello Jay -

At any point you should be able to reference the cumulative patch note to see the very latest client note available for Personas 2.0

Currently this is note 2181772.

Since the client notes are cumulative i..e. they include the fixes up-to-date for the Silverlight client, you would only need to apply the very latest client note in your environment.

Note 2173722 was released on May 28th and the bug fixes for this note are already included in note 2181772.

When you say that the following:

'2181772 do not appear to cover the issues listed in Note 2173722'

Are you implying that the bugs mentioned in note 2173722 don't appear to be fixed after you applied 2181772?

or that the note details don't mention all the fixes from note 2173722.

If its the former then we would need more details on what issues you are seeing.

The latter .. we don't typically include details of all the fixes from prior notes in the most recent note.

Please clarify.

Thanks

Hi Vandana,

Thanks much for the clarification. It has cleared up my confusion. Appreciate it.

In my note above, I meant that " the 2181772 Note details do not list the bugs listed in Note 2173722 ".  Which led me to wonder whether 2181772 superseded 2173722 or not. Now I understand that it does supersede.

Due to my misunderstanding, earlier this afternoon we applied Note 2173722 followed by 2181772. I am assuming that will not result in any damage, even though it turns out we needed to apply only 2181772 now.  I assume no damage because had we been more prompt in applying notes, we would have applied Note 2173722 in early June anyway just after it came out (when Note 2181772 was not yet available).

Anyway, thanks again for the clarification.

Jay.

Yes - even though you applied 2173722 followed by 2181772, it wouldnt have any negative impact on the client.

Please do refer to the updates on the SCN page - http://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/Img/SAP+Screen+Personas+2.0 to get informed on the note release dates and versions. I have also added a table listing the historical client note numbers for SAP Screen Personas 2.0 SP3.

Hope this helps.

Thanks

Vandana
