Regarding SLT 2.0 application based replication how it works?

Hi,

We are replicating SAP finance postings from SAP/Non-sap source systems to simple finance using SLT 2.0.

How application based replication can be done? what is application based replication? In this scenario how SLT feeds data to simple finance using API's.

Could you please help me out ASAP.
