Network Header getting created unnecessarily

Hi,

When I'm creating activities in the Project Builder, a new Network Header is getting created for every WBS element. Is there any setting in the network profile in Customizing which is controlling this?

Hello Pratap,

If you change project profile, new project will have one network for project but I think you will not be able to change already created project. They will remain with multiple network under WBS element.

Check in Sandbox before trying in development.

Hi Deepak and Maria,

Thanks for your prompt replies. Deepak, as you guessed correctly I knew that I won't be able to change the project profile settings once the project is created. But what I didn't realize is that actually only 2 of those settings are not changeable: 1. 'Network asst' under 'Planning dates' and 2. 'Project stock'. So I wonder if there is any way around this. I'm guessing that settings like budget profile, results analysis key, etc. also get locked once budget, results analysis, etc. are applied to the project.

Hi Pratap,

Its recommended to use new projects.

I dont think there is any work around for your issue.

As said by Deepak, change the network assistant to '1', this will create network only at project definition level, which means one network for a project.

Hello Pratap,

Check project profile tab Plg board/dates under network, if network assistant is '2' for WBS element then it will create network under each WBS element.
