Set same Number for SRM and ECC Central conract in SRM7.0

Hi Experts,

In our project we are creating Contracts in SRM system and the same will be replicated to ECC through PI.

While replicating contracts from SRM to ECC the number will be different.

Our requirement is that, contracts should have same number in both ECC and SRM.

Thanks

Hi ,

In SRM system it shld be external number range for contract
and in ECC system it shld be internal number range
then it wll be same number range for both ECC and SRm system.
just check it once in the system.
Thanks

Hi Anamika,

Thank you for the reply.

The number range configuration which you have mentioned is already in place in our systems.

The problem is, we are getting same number range but not the same number. For example if we create SRM contract with 4400000012, ECC contract is created with 4400000009.

Thanks

Don't do this.

It will eventually mess up your system and synchronisation causing different kinds of message errors.

Please go back to your requirements and change them. Advise the requester of this requirement STRONGLY to not go through with this.

In SRM: just go with the 44* range

in ECC: set up a different one 46* for example (and assign it in the define document types customising in the specific SRM field).

In ME33K you can just put in the SRM number and it will find all the ECC contract numbers.

Hi Manimaran,

Could you verify the number range maintained in ECC for the Contact document type and keep both the SRM & ECC Contract number ranges in sync.

We did this for PO - since we had a custom doc type in ECC and it worked for us.

(Also, every time the system copy happens from PROD to QA, the number range for PO in ECC was sync with that of current number range in SRM PO.)

Please check and revert.

Hi Raghu,

Thank you for the reply.

We are maintaining the same number range, it is not coming as same in SRM and ECC. It seems, that this cannot be be achieved just by maintaining number range alone. We need to control it from some place.

Reason being, let us say User A logs into SRM first, system allocates 123 number to contract.

Later if User B logs into SRM, system allocates 124 number to contract.

If User B, happens to save the contract first, then ECC will take the 123 number.
