Installing Netweaver 7.4 on Exalogic

Hi!

Would appreciate your input on this.

SAP only supports Oracle Linux 5 on Exalogic.

SAP Netweaver 7.4 requires kernel 7.4x that requires Oracle Linux 6. Same for EHP7 ECC6.

Does anyone have an idea on how to circumvent this so we can install NW7.4 on Exalogic?

Hi,

That is not "supported", no "normal" way to circumvent that. see SAP Note 1617188 "SAP Software an Oracle Exalogic"

Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud can be used in SAP environments when the following conditions are met:
SAP NetWeaver 7.x or higher including SAP products which are based on SAP NetWeaver 7.x. and which are supported on Oracle Linux 5 (OL5) or on Oracle Solaris/x64 11.

a bit later

Oracle Linux 6 is not yet available.

so, no option to install anything based on kernel 7.4x
