SUM SPS15 PREP_INPUT/INSTANCELIST_PRE! error

Dear all,

I faced with error "Found contradicting entries in profile '/usr/sap/SID/SYS/profile/SID_DVEBMGS00_host'" during SPS15 update using SUM. Icheked all logs and instance profile, but i cant find contradacting entries in profile. Guide me please, how can i find contradacting entries in profile?

Hi Albert,

- You need to check the profiles properly. If you have maintained one parameter twice in the instance profile , then you receive this type of error.

- If two parameters point to the same location , also cause the issue.

- Also remove the extra space from the profiles if it is exists.

Kindly paste the logs for instancelist_pre phase logs.

Many thanks for all. Found entry in the log INSTANCELIST_PRE.SAV "Found contradicting entry for 'rsdb/obj/buffersize' within same profile!"

Now all fine!

Hi Albert,

you can check your profile using below command:

sappfpar pf=/usr/sap/<SID>/<Instance>/SYS/profile/<profile> check

take a look on error or warning message.

Hello Albert,

Please copy parameter which has <sid>_DVEBMGS<instnr>_<hostname> from instance profile replace the same in start profile.

before that ...take a backup of profile just in-case.
