Filter on members on Structure - BEx Query

Hi,

We've noticed a difference between behavior in Analysis OLAP and Excel when it comes to filtering on BEx Query Structures. BEx Query structure is as follows:

• Member 1
• Member 2
  • Member 2a
  • Member 2b

This is not a hierarchy in BW, but a custom structure in BEx.

If we de-select Member 2, Analysis OLAP unchecks all children below (Member 2a and 2b), but Analysis for Excel only unchecks Member 2.

Any idea if this is an error or working as designed?

We are using Analysis for Office 2.0 SP3, SAP BI 4.1 SP5 patch 6 and BW 7.4 SP9.

According to the description of the scenario, this is working as designed. Please have a look at the SAP note below:
>> 2020351 - Propagate selection in hierarchically displayed keyfigures

In case you would like to change this behavior, please set to TRUE the registry setting below, as mentioned in the SAP note above:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SAP\AdvancedAnalysis\Settings\Selector\PropagateSelectionInStructures
