defaulting account assignment category for custom document types in me21n and me51n

Hi all,

I have a requirement to  default account assignment category as F for two custom document types in tcode ME21N ,ME51N

Tried using exit EXIT_SAPMM06E_017  include ZXM06U42. I am able to get the entered item details edited it as F in "i_ekpo" knttp  also in table tekpo,

but its not getting reflected in me21n screen .Please help finding some solution for this .

Instead of defaulting the Account assignment category, you better write a validation such that when ever user selects the Account assignment category "F" the PO document type should be as required or when ever the PO document type is Custom, the account assignment category should not be null.
