How to print a "Pick Slip" without using tasks

Hi,

We would like to avoid using warehouses tasks as in our situation they don't seem to add much value.  We would like to print a draft copy of the Delivery Note to use as a pick slip.  Then once it is confirmed that all the stock is available, complete the delivery and print final paperwork.

Is there a way to do this?

Ideally we would print the Delivery Note with a different header so that it wasn't confused with final paperwork.

Thanks

Brian

Some background:

Our warehouse people don't have system access, so the customer service person (CSR) creates the sales order and then prints paperwork for the warehouse and then confirms the Delivery and creates the Invoices.  So all the request and task steps in the middle (except for a piece of paper to tell the picker what to do) don't add value.  There is no transfer of ownership as the same person is doing all of the steps.

This is a brand new implementation and we are struggling to understand what steps can be automated to reduce the CSR's work. In ECC we process the delivery due list to create the delivery and the pick slip prints automatically, no requests and tasks etc in the middle (except for the TO which is the pick slip).  We are a bit confused by the purpose of the requests and tasks between taking an order and having delivery paperwork. It seems like either lots of manual steps or lots of configuration to automate items that don't seem to do anything.  We get an order one day, pick and dispatch it the next - all very simple.  We are looking to have the system match the process.

Hi Brian,

I believe you are looking for a way to make life easier for the person who deals with all the documents from sales order to outbound delivery document. Please try the below process.

1. Create Sales Order with Delivery Priority selected as 'Immediate'. Once you release the sales order with the above delivery priority, your customer demand document will be automatically released. Note that only the quantities that are confirmed for the sales order will be released automatically.

2. In the Outbound Logistics work center , Delivery Proposals view , select the delivery proposal and choose the button

     a. Post Goods Issue or

     b. Create Outbound Delivery and choose the option 'Without Release' or 'With Release'.

The button Post Goods Issue will help you modify the delivery proposal document. You can change the fulfilled quantity, the source logistics area etc.

The button Create Outbound Delivery can be used if you have fulfilled all the quantities that have been requested. I believe you will choose the option 'Without Release' to have the print out of the delivery document taken before releasing the outbound delivery document.

You can manually release the outbound delivery once you have completed the picking process.

Please note to create outbound delivery document without tasks you will have to have the relevant logistics model configured in your 'Warehousing and Logistics master Data' work center.

I hope this helps. Please get back if you have any more queries.

Yes, you can print the Delivery Note just before you release the order for shipment in Outbound Logistics >> Outbound Deliveries. We do not use Warehouse Requests and haven't since we launched ByD.

We renamed the title of our Delivery Note to "Packing List" when printed.
