Hello All,
I am planning to design the SNP and PPDS processes such that materials whose lead time is long will be purchased using the SNP planned orders. The reason is PP/DS horizon will be 1 month and the lead time of some of the materials are 3-4 months. Therefore the procurement must be triggered early, in this case by SNP plan. Is it possible to create purchase orders or production orders in R3 using SNP planned orders?
Thanks in advance,

To answer your Q: Yes it is possible to convert planned orders to Purchase orders or Production orders in R3.
What you have stated is precisely how SNP and PPDS are supposed to work. SNP for mid term tactical planning and PPDs for Short term detailed planning
(We normally use the SNP Production horizon setting to seperate the two .SNP does not plan inside the SNP prodn horizon and PPDS plans only inside this horizon)
