Issue while activating Infocube

Hi ,

I am getting issue while activating infocube .I just added char to the cube and activated.Activation of the cube failed due to below reason:

Can anybody help me. I have checked in RSRV.seems everything is fine.

Hi All,

I am able to activate the cube after droping cube data. So, This is fine for now but it would not be possible to delete the data when it will move to production system.

that's why we need to use remodeling concept to add info object  when its have data.

would you please check the activation job in SM37 and the application logs? There are any more errors?

when above suggestions fail, you might also want to try to activate & adjust the (dimension) table /BIC/DRMM_C098 manually via SE14

Is it advisiable to do ? There is a option to activate and adjust database in se14..this is what you mean ?

It's not the first thing you should do (look for a 'RSA1 solution' first), but if you choose the 'save data' Option, there is no real risk either.

For certain scenarios (like changing the length of an infoobject) SAP BW will even tell you to go and activate the SID-table via this Transaction

I did activate and adjust database...It gives me an error saying 'Index of dimention cant have more than 16 fields'

But If this is the case..how the cube was activate before making the changes.

Hi,

Mean is this new cube or old cube.

if its old cube then can you try add required info object thru remodeling?

lets see how it goes.

Cross check , all added info objects are active at your present server?

Try to activate all info objects which are used in your cube and later try to activate your cube.

This is the old cube. And all the infoobjects of the dimention which i m getting the error are active

have you tested RSRV Tests on table /BIC/DRMM_C098 or F/E fact tables?

Please try to do /BIC/DRMM_C098.

If possible, can you try to share long text of error message.

From your scree shot, try to move below scrol bar from left to extrem right. there you may see Ltxt(yellow ? icon)

yes..I did test on dimension and fact table..there was no error found.

if you remove the object  you added, can you then activate the cube?

Try to undo your changes and activate your cube without added info object.

Once your cube was active, again try to add required info object thru remodeling and see.

yes, And got the same issue :

Index /BIC/DRMM_C098-Z01 has more than 16 fields.

How to resolve this ? Is deleting the index will solve the purpose ?

check that the infoobject refered to in the error message has an active version. apparently this is not the case. activate the infoobject and normally you should be able to activate your cube as well afterwards.

By any chance the info object that you have added has been changed for length or type

Info Object is newly created.
