Hi Experts,
I already look it in PAM but i need more information/source about it.
We're going to upgrade our windows from WS 2008 R2 Enterprise to WS 2012 R2 Standard.
SAP: ECC 6.0 SR3
Database: Oracle 11.2.0.30 (11g)
Kernel: 720_REL
SAP_BASIS: 700 SP12
SAP_APPL: 600 SP10
The questions are:
1. Does SAP ECC 6.0 SR3 will run on WS 2012 R2 Standard?
2. SAP_BASIS: 700 SP12 does it means that it is NETWEAVER 7.0 with Support Lvl 12?
3. SAP ECC 6.0 SR3 is Different to EHP1,2,3.....
4. Does any body here knew someone using SAP ECC 6.0 SR3 with WS 2012 R2?
Thank you.
1. Does SAP ECC 6.0 SR3 will run on WS 2012 R2 Standard?
Yes, it will - but you need to check aspects
For eg,
For details regarding SAP NetWeaver based systems please see SAP note 1431800.
For SAP NetWeaver based systems at least Oracle Patchset 11.2.0.4 required.
This comes from PAM.
Also check 1732161 - SAP Systems on Windows Server 2012 (R2)
2. SAP_BASIS: 700 SP12 does it means that it is NETWEAVER 7.0 with Support Lvl 12?
Probably Yes - You can you goto service market place and search for NETWEAVER 7.0 in downloads - Support pack stack and view it's contents.
3. SAP ECC 6.0 SR3 is Different to EHP1,2,3.....
SAP ERP is a product
EHP is SAP SAP enhancement pack
For eg, refer below
This is for EHP 7 for ERP 6.0
Product SAP ERP
Release 6.0
SAP enhancement package 7 for SAP ERP 6.0, SPS 7
Based On SAP NetWeaver 7.4, SPS 9
BI Content Release BI Content Add-On 7.57
4. Does any body here knew someone using SAP ECC 6.0 SR3 with WS 2012 R2?
Not me, to be honest.
I believe someone might come up who has worked on it

Hi James
5. it is okay in x64?
You have to use the X64 bit OS in Windows 2012 server(32 bit not supported)
check the SAP PAM link
6. what is the meaning of "For EHP2 for SAP NetWeaver 7.0 only". ( I'm confused about it i found it in Netweaver 7.0 PAM)
EHP - Enhancement Packages, In your system SAP Basis 7.00 = NW 7.00
SAP Basis 7.01 = NW 7.01 - Ehp 1
SAP Basis 7.02 = NW 7.02 - Ehp 2
7. how can i find out if there's a JVM in our SAP?
You can find the information in SIDAM user id environment variable, Check the JAVA_HOME= ?
Regards
SS
5. it is okay in x64?
WIN2012 R2 on x64 platform is supported.
Cross check in PAMas suggested before.
6. what is the meaning of "For EHP2 for SAP NetWeaver 7.0 only". ( I'm confused about it i found it in Netweaver 7.0 PAM)
Netweaver was releases in different versions.
When you say 7.02 it means EHP 2 for Netweaver 7.0
When you say 7.41 it means EHP 1 for Netweaver 7.4
and so on....
7. how can i find out if there's a JVM in our SAP?
If you are running JAVA stack the easiest way to find current JVM level is by checking dev_server0 file which shows the path of current JAVA used.
java -version is incorrect as the env variable might point to some other JVM which is not the actual used my system.
