Upgarding and Migrating SAP BI from 4.0 to 4.1

Hello All,

I am upgrading and migrating SAP BI 4.0 to SAP BI 4.1

After up-gradation do we need to take a copy of "file store" from older version (SAP BI 4.0) which contains IFRS and OFRS, and need to paste on newer version (SAP BI 4.1)??.

Please suggest for this.

What do you mean by upgrading and migrating SAP BI 4.0 to SAP BI 4.1.

You only need to upgrade the landscape from BI 4.0 to BI4.1.There is no need of copy paste the file store after upgrade,.

Certain things you need to take care before upgrading.

Database backup.

Take a copy of Anything in the Custom folder under the tomcat. because after upgrade you need to copy again files in the custom folder.

I mean to say I have upgraded the SAP BI 4.0 version to SAP BI 4.1.

Now I want to migrate the reports,users,universe from BI 4.0 to BI 4.1.

So do we need to migrate the "File Store Folder" as well which is located in installer directory.

Hi,

You said you  upgraded the BI 4.0 to BI 4.1.The reports which you want to migrate in the BI 4.1 not part of the BI 4.0?

If these reports were in the system before upgrade then no need of migration.you can see reports in the BI 4.1

If BO 4.1 is the independent  system and reports are not there , in this case use promotion management and migrate  reports,users,universe from BI 4.0 to BI 4.1

in both cased no need of migration or copy/paste file store in the BI 4.1
