NWBC 5.0 PL6 freezes sometimes

Hi all

We are facing some problems in NWBC (5.0 PL6 and lower). NWBC freezes sometimes and we want to figure out where the problem comes from.

In the extended Help-Menu (press &hold Ctrl) under special switches is solution for tracing this issue:

But by activating this, the following error message occurs:

Where the heck we can do some proxy settings in NWBC? Makes no sense to go over the Proxy.

Hi Patrick,

normally the dump files are not needed to analyze such issues. Freezing the whole UI does not mean that there is a crash within NWBC code. It is also possible that the application running inside the browser control of NWBC throws an exception or is hanging in an endless loop which has the effect that the NWBC window also does not respond any more (same process).

Our own trace contains a lot of informations and if any exception occurs inside NWBC then this is enough to analyze and locate the problem without creating dump files.

By the way... the extended supportability switch you mention in your post tries to get access to the sysinternals suite and the ProcDump.exe via network. This is an official toolbox and set of utilities for Microsoft Windows. If you install it locally on your machine, it is automatically used to create dump files into the NWBC trace folder. If you create a complete support report the dump files can automatically attached to this report.

Hi all,

we have been experiencing the same issue in NWBC 5.0. It seems to me that only SAP GUI transactions are concerned. We have to close the shell and restart when that happens..
