Dear Experts,
I have got requirement to build DR set-up for our ECC Production. I have got some material and found server build same like as ECC Standalone installation method. Just let me want to know about post steps
1) Whether same post steps to be performed in DR server?
2)Else what are the extra steps to performed once DR system is ready?
3)Kindly provide any document or SAP reference note for checking further?
Hi Dheen,
What kind of "disaster" you plan to handle ? It could be as small as a server box down , or as big as your whole data center destroyed. I assume you're not talking about the small one which can be solved by "clustering".
Do you have any measurable goal for this "DR" ? such as max service downtime allowed, and max data loss (in terms of time).
If you don't have any requirement, you just need to install SAP on DR site and restore the DB from backup of primary site. Make sure the backup media can be available after the disaster.
If you have strict downtime requirement, you probably need to pre-install your SAP on DR site, keep the configuration sync periodically.
If you have strict data loss requirement, you probably need to setup DB replication (or log-shipping-like machanism) between different sites. Not sure Always-On is doable on SQL2008, but you better check this.

Hi Dheen,,
The DR setup and configuration will vary depending on the OS and DB in your Environment. Once you provide those details, The people in the forum can help you out with different tools and methods used pertaining to that Database.
Thanks,

Hi Dheen,
For SQL Server 2008 R2, You can use MS SQL Log shipping method to configure the DR .

Also check the SAP Note

Hi Dheen
You can use the MS Sql DB mirroring shipping using the SAP note

Hi AJ,
For post steps, you should replicate a scenario for checking fail-over.
Other question is what is your requirement in terms of HA/DR ?
You can also refer certain thread on SAP and MS for HA and DR.

1. Yes, You can perform the normal post installation tasks on the DR standalone system. and during off time you switch the process to DR site and check the all the production environment activity's.
2. After completion of your DR drill, you can do the Database replication (Either mirroring or log shipping based on your OS /DB) from primary to DR site.
3. You can play with DNS to switch primary SAP instance & DB to DR. for this you can get in touch your network administrator. They may guide you.
3)Kindly provide any document or SAP reference note for checking further?
All depends on your OS / DB vendor best practices
