When we open a DMS document it replaces the file name by the SAP user ID

We are using DMS to store technical drawings etc. on materials (linked to SAP ECC 6.0, not sure of the DMS version).

When we open a DMS document in SAP (via MM03->Extras->Document Data) the system puts/presents it in a local (tmp) directory which is fine.

But the name that is assigned to the file is the SAP userID from the person opening the DMS file, and that is not fine.

We get something like c:\users\xx\AppData\Local\SAP\SAP GUI\tmp\_xxxx02.zip (in which xxxx is my userID).

Can't we have SAP keep the filename from the file in DMS instead of putting the UserID in the name?

Hi,

Please check and do the changes as per below screenshot for your workstation application and test. It will not rename temporary files.

Thanks a lot Tilak, we tested it for .zip-files & this seems to work.
