or use the option to start an online_cons backup which will be consistent in terms of database recovery capabilities; this way you do not have to stop your db in advance...

> brbackup -u / -t <b>online_cons</b> -m all -c

you can run a backup while SAP is stil lrunning,

just use option "-c force" with brbackup

SAP will still be up but unusable... the advantage is that SAP buffers are kept while offline backup is running.

Hi

Lookin at the following lines in the error:

BR0068E <b>SAP system is running or SAP user is connected to database</b> E02 - database cannot be shut down

BR1025I Please shut down SAP system first or use the 'offline_force' option

It seems that you are trying to take a <b>offline</b> backup.

For taking a offline backup you need to disconnect SAP from the database or shutdown the database. Or else automatically DB is shutdown by brtool.

In your case it seems your SAP is connected to the database.

Instead what you can do is select <b>'offline_force' option</b> while taking backup so that it forcefully shut downs the database by removing the connection to SAP and your backup is successful. No problem in using this option.

This will solve your problem.
