Hello experts,
sap has the below example for receipt buckets shifted by 12 hours, and not understand why issues of qty 36 is not reduced at current time for progressive logic, but at 12:01 today. can you please guide me how to make this out? Thank you!
BR, Mark
The bucket limit for issues is at 00:00, and the receipts are postponed 12 hours.
Representation of receipts and issues
Total receipts and issues for each bucket
Bucket | Issues | Receipts (postponed) |
Today | 12 + 17 + 7 = 36 | 12 + 19 = 31 |
Tomorrow | 4 + 7 + 5 = 16 | 9 + 14 + 5 = 28 |
ATP quantity for specific times depending on the conservative, progressive, and exact logic
Time | Conservative logic | Progressive logic | Exact logic |
Current time | 30 | 30 + 31 = 61 | 30 |
12:01 today | 30 + 31 – 36 = 25 | 61 + 28 – 36 = 53 | 30 + 12 – 12 + 19 – 17 = 32 |
23:00 today | 25 | 53 | 32 + 9 – 7 = 34 |
04:00 tomorrow | 25 | 53 – 16 = 37 | 34 – 4 – 7 = 23 |
12:00 tomorrow | 25 + 28 – 16 = 37 | 37 | 23 + 14 + 5 = 42 |
23:00 tomorrow | 37 | 37 | 42 – 5 = 37 |
Hello Quanyin,
I am confused with your example. Which strategy are you using in your production and can you help me understand if you're seeing a problem with Progressive bucket strategy ? Or is it something to do with some other stratey ?

Hi,
If I am not wrong you are talking about this example mentioned in the link
Valuation of Receipts and Issues in Buckets - Global Available-to-Promise (Global ATP) - SAP Library
there it has been clearly mentioned "The bucket limit for issues is at 00:00, and the receipts are postponed 12 hours" (as per link). This means the bucket are getting postponed by 12hrs so why would it do at current time.
Regards
Rahul
