Active Version in MDG

What is the basic logic of having same & different active version? Can you please explain with one real time example?

Hi,

When you make any changes to the data model and just save it , the active version is set to Different,\.When you activate the data model , then the active version is set to Same.

Here is the SAP help documentation:

Active Version

Indicates whether there are differences between the inactive version of a data model, which is stored in the database, and the active version. This information is determined when the data model is saved.

Use

The system makes the settings automatically.

  • None - There is not an active version of the data model.
  • Same - There is no difference between the inactive version and the active version of the data model.
  • Different - The inactive and active versions of the data model are different.
