Hi All,
We are in the process of moving our content server from one windows server to another windows server. Our content server version of source system is 7.6 and the target system in on 7.9.
But during recovery we are facing the attached issue.
We have taken backup from source system and trying to import in to target system.
Tried both offline and online backup.
But getting the same error.
Please suggest.
Regards,
Shyam
Hi Shyam,
Generally -111 mean you need to choose database version.

Hi Shyam,
Apparently the error indicates the incremental backup is not compatible.
Did you follow up SAP note 129352 to do the migration? If so, there is no need to apply incremental backup or log backup.
However please pay attention, you should use restore with intialization option.
Best regards,
James

The suggestions to upgrade the source MaxDB database from 7.6 to 7.9 and to have the source and target databases on the same release/version are not correct.
You can import backup taken from a lower version of MaxDB database into a higher version. There are SAP notes confirming that and moreover I have moved a MaxDB 7.6 on Windows 2003 system to a higher version using backup and restore.
>>You can import a backup of Version 7.5.00.50 into a target system with all of the available SAP MaxDB versions that are higher than or equal to 7.5.00.50 (for example, 7.6, 7.7, and so on).<<
>>As of SAP MaxDB Version 7.4, you can also import data backups into target systems on which a higher SAP MaxDB version is running (for example: A backup of Version 7.5.00.50 can be imported into a target system with all of the available SAP MaxDB Versions >= 7.5.00.50).<<

If the system is on Windows 3003 and 7.6 version then it is not possible to upgrade that database to 7.9 as 7.9 is not supported on Windows 2003
Your problem looks more likely with the page number check. Check the note 1708716 - Deactivating page number check during recovery and see if that helps. If not you will need to come back with the logs to understand where the issue is.

Hi Divyanshu,
Thanks for your reply.
We understood that this is database version issue ,as during initialization from database it picked up database version of source system and hence recovery is ending with error.
Could you please suggest where to change the database version .
For your information our source system maxdb version is 7.6 and we are migrating it to 7.9 version.
Regards,
Shyam
if you are facing such issues then 1st upgrade MaxDB and then migrate or else 1st migrate and then update. That depends a lot of your source and target specs.
On how to upgrade - refer below
