Dear SD Gurus:
I want to have clarifications pertaining to the maintainance of Common Distri channels and common Divisions: T Code VOR1 and VOR2
The scenario is following:
I have one Sales Organization: ZABC
Distribution Channels : KR, KV, KN, KD
Divisions: TM, TN, TZ
If I have VOR1 as follows:
ZABC KR KR
ZABC KV KR
ZABC KN KR
ZABC KD KR
AND VOR 2 as follows:
ZABC TM TM
ZABC TN TM
ZABC TZ TM
1..Would it suffice to share the common master data of Customer Master and Material Master.?
2..Material 1400 created with ZABC and KR channel. Would this be available for all other channels such as KV, KN, KD?
3. OR in addition I will have to do settings in OVAO, OVAM and OVAN? If yes what would be those settings?
4. Also under Assign permitted document types to Sales Areas would it be okay to assign all the doc types to ZABC,KR,TM.? If I try to assign for other divisions it gives error saying that define that sales area as General sales area!!!
I am fully confused. <b>Kindly guide me and take me out of this confusion</b>.
It should not matter if you are using both conditions and masters as common. I thought that you might be missing out on masters.
It should work for you as per the settings done by you.

It should not give any error when you are using common distribution channel. Try reconfiguring and check.
This is a common thing and we use it regularly. Never we had faced problem. Check whether you are using common distribution channel for master data or condition data. By mistake you might be making the setting under condition data rather than master data.

Hi Das,
Sometimes you get the problem in displaying the customer master because of irregualrities in the Partner Functions tab.
Try using VD03 transaction and click on the button customer sales area to select the sale area for which the customer is created. If partner functions tab is not created (especially when you use LSMW you might forget to do this) then use VD01 to first create the partner functions and then use VD02 transaction.

To share the master data that config settings which u have mentioned is enuf.
but to share the sales area data by all doc types u need to configure
as combine sales org/combine DC & combine Div.-OVAZ
Ref Sales area would be : ZABC-KR-TM
2)- Yes, that material is available for all other DC's
3)- In
OVAO:
ZABC-ZABC
OVAM:
ZABC-KR-KR
ZABC-KV-KR
ZBAC-KN-KR
OVAN
ZABC TM TM
ZABC TN TM
ZABC TZ TM
Now assign ur sales area (ZABC-KR-TM) to respective sales doc types.
4) Yes itz ok ,the same doc will be allowed for all other sales areas

I did the settings as confirmed by you.I am using mySAP ECC 6.0
1. If I use a customer record which was uploaded by LSMW using ZABC KR TM for the sales area ZABC KV TN where it belongs...I am not able to go to XD02.
2. If I try to use customer 1400 say which was for ZABC KR TM for KV and TN for the material which was defined for ZABC and KR...am getting error " No sales area can be determined" . I extended this material from ZABC KR to ZABC KV..but still it is giving the same error.
I am fully confused about the errors. Why they should come.Please guide me..am into deep problems.

I finally did Z
ZABC KR KR,
ZABC KV KV,
ZABC KN KN AND
ZABC KD KD in VOR1.
In VOR2 I maintained the common division TM for all other divisions.
Now the error is not coming. The same material after extension, I am able to process for different channel customers for different distribution channels. But in reality there should be no need for me to extend the material for other channels am I right?
But the pricing condition data is not getting shared. I had to create separate PR00 records for all the 4 channels separately.
Can you guide me for avoiding the above.

By using the common dist.ch and common div, the master needs to be maintained only in the common sales area and it will be available for all other sales areas. Even if you try creating in any other sales area other than the common sales area, system will not allow.
But this is not enough for assigning the document types. There is another concept called combine sales org, combine dist ch and combine div. You need to complete these steps and once all the sls org, dist ch and div are referenced to a particular sls org, dist ch and div respectively then you need to maintain the sales document types only for that sales area.

As per the settings, i see that your common sales are is
ZABC KR TM
Whatever master records defined at this level will be available for the rest of the sales areas like
ZABC KV TN.
You can even decide to share the condition records.
