Hello Adrian,

about the "File does not begin with ‘%PDF’-" error: yes, it is still valid today. The reason is that Web-related GUIs can not have the "classical" spool connection between R/3 server and the Web frontend, therefore the spool needs to be sent as a PDF file to the Web frontend.

Even if a .pdf file will "arrive" to the WebGUI, if the content of the file is not a PDF structure then Adobe will throw this error message.

The structure of the file is determined by the Device Type, so the solution is to use an Output Device which uses a PDF Device Type (e.g. PDF1 or PDFUC if the SAP system is Unicode-capable).
