crystal report data connection

Dear All

I would like to know any method when I relocation B1 from one server to another server. The crystal report can detect the current location with SQL server. So that we are not necessary to import the rpt file again.

Edmund

Hello,

You can use the B1 connection type in crystal Reports, than it is automatically uses the database connection of the B1 application where you connceted.

Also you may use ODBC connection type, so when you moving from server to server the report, you must just define the same odbc connection name.

I think, your issue is that you have used oledb or other connection type which is not the best fitting.

I  hope it is help

Dear Janos

is it B1 connection type ?

As I right click and check the properties, it show crdb_odbc.dll , does it mean that it is using odbc or not? and how can I check this report connection is odbc or not?

When I create a report, I select ODBC (RDO) for connection, am I correct?

How can I change the ODBC connection to B1 connection type? do I redevelop the report?

Regards

Hello,

1st case is correct.

2nd case:

steps:

1. create an odbc connection in ODBC32 administrator (32 bit!)

2. go to database expert-> Set datasource location, select your new datasource and you have remap the fields.
