Installing db2 LUW client into application server

Is it required to install DB2 LUW client in a application server or only a CI?

Hi ,

What is the version of the DB2 .

On versions from  9.7 db2  thin client is installed along with the installation  and is saved in the sap global  ( /sapmnt/SID)directory  which  will be shared across the application servers . So no need for any seperate installation of the client in the app servers .

Make sure that the global directory is accessible to all servers , as the name implies

please refer the installation guide.

ideally for a simple system setup you install DB and CI on one host,  perhaps DB + PAS and then DI or we should say addtional app server.

You should plan the landscape first and such questions will be answere.
