We have just started an archiving project and I'm now looking at storage systems
for our archived data. What are the popular ones out there that you would recommend?
Michael,
My choices...
Tier 1 – Global Players: SAP, IBM, OpenText, Filenet, EMC Documentum
Some where I read – “Documentum has the best content engine, Filenet the best process engine, Open Text the best storage engine, and SharePoint the best application engine.”
Tier 2 – Regional & SME Markets: Dolphih, Saperion, Easy Software, Ceyonic, PBS, …
Choosing storage engine(system) is more specific to your requirement.
Thanks,
Kolusu

Hi Michael,
Same here, evaluating the products which will help in data archiving project,
Are you convinced that "EXTERNAL Storage systems for archived data" is a must for data archiving project.
In other words.. why cant we use our existing SAP DMS content server as the "storage system for archived data", which is already secured, backed up and is scalable storage system?
We have looked in to Opentext, Commvault, PBS, IBM... etc just to name few.
Regards,
Rehan
