silly question, want to understand from process point of view.

why do we need a separate VAS order document. Activities which are being performed are from work center.

we can make the steps without VAS order number. What is the significance of creating VAS order.

any additional consumption - captured from this. If yes where do we maintain the settings ?

Hi Ramakrishna Sastry

Basically VAS activities are activities that enhance the value of a product in the warehouse.

These activities are generally performed by warehouse operators or contract vendor at a work center

in the warehouse. In this case you can have actual time stamp of work.

You can have multiple activity at one work center with with time stamp.

You can have kitting which is kind of assembling the product at work center and can be sold to customer. Examples of VAS activities include packaging, oiling (or other

preservation activities), assembly, kitting, tagging.

At the same time you can do perform.

Packing + labeling + oiling + qut + quality check   and many in same step which can be not possible in POSC step. It will have to configure separate steps req.

At the same time work can be traced and tracked.

Hope this will be helpful.

Hello Sastry,

Say for example you have a packing work station where you perform repacking before staging products.Your POSC will only give you information that product needs to go to packing station. But if you want to attach instructions to it for a warehouse employee you can use a VAS order(which uses packaging specifications). In other words VAS order can be used to perform activities in a work center on a customer specific basis. With this you can inform a warehouse employee about what work to be performed on which products and in which order.

You can also post consumption of auxiliary product directly from VAS work center. For this you need to make following settings-

1) In product master of auxiliary component, storage data tab-->VAS indicator is set to "Consumption Relevant for VAS".

2) Auxiliary product has been assigned in the packaging specifications.

3) Your stock for auxiliary components is in the bin that is assigned to VAS work center. Consumption will be posted from this bin during VAS activity.

Khushboo
