Transport of Copies created during Auto-import option of Retrofit

Hi Experts,

Whenever there is scenario when we have to perform Auto-import retrofit via Solution Manager below happens.

We Release TR from Maintenance Landscape which if can be retrofitted (consider for auto-import scenario) will appear in Retrofit window.

We create one receiving TR as well in Implementation Landscape which will have the non-conflicting objects which released from TR in maintenance landscape after Retrfoit.

But in any standard definition of Retrofit we come across below line.

“Retrofit is performed through a transport of copies which is automatically created and released and contains only the objects without conflicts (retrofit tool imports this transport of copies into the retrofit system).”

So my doubt is regarding this Transport of Copies in above statement. Can anyone clear my below doubts I have about them.

1.     If TCOP’s are created, then they are created in which system?
2.    What is there actual purpose and what they do?

    3.      How is the actual retrofit taking place in background?

TOC are created in DV1 maintenance system only.
