Hi,

I have installed a trial version of SAP Netweaver 7. And kept a common password throughout the installation as <b>pass1234</b>, but still visual Administrator is not allowing me to login.

Hi,

since your sap* is activated you cannot log into visual admin using default connection since it checks with user id administrator.

so goto http://servername:portnumber/useradmin

enter with user sap* and password pass and unlock the user administrator

deactivate the user sap* in configtool restart the MMC

and now you try to loginto visual admin

Hi,

For you to login to your visual admin your database and the instance both should be up and running.

For JAVA stack use administrator and the password you hace gicen during installation.

If still not working. activate your sap* password from configtool and then retsart the cluster to allow the changes to take affect, Then login Ume Admin using sap*.

Unlock the adminstrator password and reset the password to the same one.

Come out of it and again log on to configtool and deactivate your sap* password.

restart the cluster.

It will definately work..

Do reward points.

Hi All,

First of all i would like to thank to all those have replied.

The information provided is useful but couldn't reslove my problem of logging in ro Visual Administrator.

When i followed the configtool option i was able to make <b>ume.superadmin.activated</b> to TRUE but when i try to set the password for <b>ume.superadmin.password</b> it was telling me that previous entry is incorrect.

I am using only J2EE Server instance say only JAVA not the ABAP.

Hi

are you trying to connect to the Visual Adminsitrator using the ADMINSITRATOR user? If using JAVA then u need to use this user.

Hi

First of all I would like to know whether u got installed Java ABAP or both.

Depending upon your installation the user to be used varies.

If you have got <b>ABAP+JAVA</b> then the user to be used is <b>J2EE_ADMIN</b>.

If you have got only <b>JAVA</b> then the user to be used is <b>ADMINSITRATOR</b>.

Now depending upon your type of installation use the correct user and try again.

This should help.

Hi

If its only java stack use administrator/what you have given.If its avap stack use j2ee_admin .Make sure that j2ee_admin has been assigned proper roles eg:BC_JSF etc.As suggested by other friends.

Hi Rajendra,

Reasons for this issue; plz check it one by one.

1. Did you configure with ABAP? if yes, plz do below steps:

Plz assign SAP_J2EE_ADMIN role to J2EE_ADMIN user.

2. VA login dialog; Please check Port(5xx04) is right?

3. Admin password is wrong or lockecd.

If yes, Activate SAP* then reset or unlock it. For this jus follow below steps:

If you forgot or lock "Administrator or J2EE_ADMIN" password just follow below steps:

STEP-1: Enable "SAP*"

1.Start the Config Tool C:\usr\sap\<SID>\<engine-instance>\j2ee\configtool\configtool.bat

Ex: D:\usr\sap\F02\JC00\j2ee\configtool --> configtool.bat

2.Goto cluster-data --> Global server configuration --> services --> com.sap.security.core.ume.service

3.Double-click on the property "ume.superadmin.activated = TRUE"

4.Double-click on the property "ume.superadmin.password=<Enter any password ex: abc123>"

5.Save.

6.Restart the engine.

STEP-2: Login with "SAP*" into portal

1. http://<host>:<Port>/useradmin/index.jsp

2. Enter userid / password as" SAP* / <password ex: abc123>"

3. Search for "Administrator" user

4. Reset or change password for "Administrtor"

STEP-3: Disable "SAP*"

1.Start the Config Tool C:\usr\sap\<SID>\<engine-instance>\j2ee\configtool\configtool.bat

Ex: D:\usr\sap\F02\JC00\j2ee\configtool --> configtool.bat

2.Goto cluster-data --> Global server configuration --> services --> com.sap.security.core.ume.service

3.Double-click on the property "ume.superadmin.activated = FALSE"

4.Save.

5. Restart the engine.

STEP-4: Login with "Administrator"

1. http://<host>:<Port>/useradmin/index.jsp

2. Enter userid / Password as "Administrator / <password>

3. it will ask change password just change it.

Please follow steps one by one. it should resolve your issue.
