CTM dependent component exclusion

Former Member

Hi

We have a number of products running in CTM, To simplify things, let's say we have three products FP1, INT1 and COMP1. The FP1 is made from INT1 and COMP1. SO the PPM has both the components.  We defined our master data profile with just FP1 but have the check box "Select dependent data automatically".

We now want to exclude COMP1 from CTM planning, although we don't want to touch or create new PPM.

I tried to exclude COMP1 from the location products selection but the indicator  "Select dependent data automatically" is automatically picking up COMP1 material as it is a dependent component for FP1.  We though of taking the indicator  "Select dependent data automatically" but that is excludinh INT1 as well in the planning run.

We thought about just running all FP* products in one run with the indicator "Select dependent data automatically", but the problem is that the CTM run is taking already too long. Running it twice, we are afraid it would double the run time, although the master data is split.

Is there any way to tell CTM not to consider COMP1 and just plan FP1 and INT1 without touching the PPM?

Thanks

KA

Hi KA,

Don't select "select dependent data automatically" in CTM master data profile. Go to location products, put FG - FP1, select the line and click on "select dependent data manually" (next to where used list). This will explode BOM, external procurement link and in-house production. Then on location product tab exclude COMP1 and save the profile. Then try executing CTM run.

Let me know if it worked.

Rahul

Hi,

Once you select your products using the option 'Select dependent data automatically', you can just delete the component material from the list and execute the CTM run for the remaining products.

Or you can manually add all the products which are required and the corresponding PDS or PPM.

For more information kindly go through the following link.

Hi KA,

To exclude the component in the planning run maintain the procurement type "P- External procurement planning". This can be done by mass change. CTM will not plan this material.

Hi KA

If I understood correctly you don´t want to plan COMP1 which is included in PPM.

This you can do within CTM profile configuration. You can go to CTM profile --> Setting-->Basic setting tab.

There you can click on Exclude procurement alternatives. If you click on PPM/PDS then respective PPM will not be touched in CTM planning. Please try to the respective option and let us know if it works.

Thanks
