stock transfers

Hai gurus,

can u pls explain me how to transfer the stock between two plants ? and how to configure ?

one can use the transaction MB1B.

Usage

This transaction will be used by plants that stock/store materials. Itgives the user the capability to issue materials from one plant and place them in another plant, move materials from one storage location to another storage location within a plant, and reassign a material to a new material master within a plant.

Purpose

This transaction is used when transferring material(s) from plant to plant, storage location to storage location and material to material.

Plant to Plant - Stock transfer consist of a "Goods Issue" from an issuing point and a "Goods Receipt" at a receiving plant. You can post a stock transfer from plant to plant either in one step or two steps.

Storage location to Storage Location within a Plant - Allows for inventoried material(s) to be moved from one storage location to another storage location.

Material to Material - Allows for a plant to move inventory quantities to a newly assigned material master (usually as a result of a new contract creation with new material numbers).

Prerequisites

Obtain the following information prior to performing this transaction:

· Plant

· Storage location

· Material master number(s)

· Unit of Measure

· Quantity on hand

· Material(s) must be maintained in both the Issuing/Receiving plants and storage locations

Menu Path

Use the following menu path(s) to begin this transaction:

· Select Logistics Materials Management Inventory Management Goods Movement Goods Receipt TRANSFER POSTING to go to the Enter Transfer Posting: Initial screen
