Export/Import ESR and ID content from PI 7.0 to PO 7.4

Hi

We are attempting an upgrade of a PI 7.0 system to a new installation of PO 7.4.

I would like to know if there are any issues in exporting the ESR content (Interface objects, etc) and Integration Directory content (communication channels, scenarios, etc) from the old PI 7.0 system into the new PO 7.4 system.

Can it be done or will we need to re-create the content on the new system from scratch?

Regards

Riaz

Hi Riaz,

ESR content can be exported/imported easily.

For Integration Directory content, please use the Migration Tool on your SAP PO 7.4.

Hi Dimitri

Thank you the helpful information.

I am looking at the migration tool documentation at http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/e0d7c7e4-af05-3110-f3a5-a6686fd3a...

I have accessed the URL http://<host>:<port>/pimon -> Configuration and Administration .

But I dont see the Migration Tool link anywhere. Is there perhaps a role/permission i am missing?

Thanks

Riaz

Hi Riaz,

I assume you have granted the roles to the user as mentioned in the document?

Have a look at

for more context and authorizations.

Kind regards,

Hi Dimitri

I have the roles noted in the document -

SAP_XI_API_DISPLAY_J2EE and SAP_XI_API_DEVELOP_J2EE.

Also i forgot to mention we are moving from a dual stack to a dual stack not single stack target system.

Here is what i see at that link -

I guess the migration tool is just not relevant for a dual stack target system.

Only in case you move from a dual stack to a single stack

Hi Riaz,

Normally you will use a migration tool to migrate classical scenario to ICO object.

Since in your case, the target system is also dual stack system.

The same discussion has been discussed in the below thread.

Can you check this:
