Hi

Derivation is a mechanism in COPA, using which you can derive characteristic values of one characteristic by using another characteristic which is present in the posted document.

Say you have posted an Invoice in SD. In invoice you have Customer (Char1) and Qty sold information. Now you also want to have information regarding Region (Char2) of sales or Sale employee information (Char3) from this information. In this case you can derive values of region or sales employee from the customer information available in the transaction using various derivation methods available in COPA.

As suggested by others kindly read the documents on COPA for better understanding.

Kindly close the issue to make the space better for one and all.
