Hi Experts,

  1. May I get some insight on CUT-OVER vs Lean Period?

   2.  What is the difference between these two?

   3.  What is the BASIS guys role during these phases ?

PS: Points will be awarded.

Thanks,

Garry

Hi Garry,

Migrating the system and organization to a production system, this is called Cutover.

Read some SNC thread on this - cutover strategy | SCN

Now from a BASIS perspective and depending on the roles assigned to you in cut over plan, you might end importing many transport requests

Dear Divyanshu,

Thank you very much for such a short and crisp reply.

I always find your replies of superior quality and answering the core of my questions.

Could you please write few lines on Lean period as well ?

I do understand that it might be client specific or business specfic term and may not be a followed as standard one. Incase you have gone thru any lean period / phase it will help me.

Actually, last week CUT OVER was successful for my client and now they are heading with Lean period.

Thanks,

Garry

Hi Garry,

What roles and plan for this lean period was shared by your client ? That should answer more on this term in your project.

It should be something like a hypercare or go-live support period, depending how you client interprets this 'lean period'.
