NW2004s Java Add-in on a Dialog Instance

Hello All,

Is it possible to perform a Java Add-in on a dialog instance for NW2004s SR1? I don't see any option in the installation master. It only shows the option for Java Add-in in Central Service instance, Database instance and Central Instance.

I already have both ABAP+JAVA on CI (NW2004s SR1). There is a dialog instance which is running only ABAP (NW2004s SR1). Can I add Java to this dialog instance?

Can someone please help me on this?

HI fahad,

Let me make one thing clear, a Dialog instance is just a load balancer for your system, there is no actual database specific to your Dialog instance, So when you install a dialog instance it will prompt you to give the Central instance name and since CI already contains double stack your DI will also be a double stack. When you want to install a portal or XI and any other usage type on DI, it will proceed but it will prompt you to give the details of the CI instance.It would refer to the CI instance and then it will proceed. No DI exits without CI.
