smtp configuration

hi...

Please let me know how to configure SMTP for sending mails and sms from sap..

I am not using netweaver.

I have tried but i am getting error that routing is not defined from sapuser to my gmail account..

Please let me know as early as possible.

Depends which version of SAP you are running but mail is typically managed through transaction SCOT. The smtp Web AS config today is very similar to the smtp setup of older products.
