SAP GUI740 - Some questions

Hi Experts,

i updated my GUI to 740 PL3 on my PC. I read, that the configuration files has changed from saplogon.ini to a new  XML format.

On the first start the saplogon.ini should be transferred to a xml. But not on my pc. I have still the old configuration files.

What is the cause or what is wrong?

Hallo Klaus, if you click on the "Local Configuration Files, do you have the below paths?

The old .ini file will still exist, but the above additional .xml files should be generated

Try running the install again as administrator and see if this helps. (the latest patch 3 is also available),

Dear Jude,

Thanks for your reply. On this screen i see the old entries.

I tried to reinstall with pl3 but still the same.

I tried it on a second Windows 7 pc and it is the same.

It is a german installation, but i think there is nothing different.

Can you send a screenshot Klaus?

Normally, the saplogon.ini should still exist and the 3 other new files should be created.

Hello Klaus,

    Did you upgrade your GUI installation with or without the SAP NetWeaver Business Client (NWBC) ? If you perform a Classic’ installation procedure without the NWBC shell then your ini.file will not migrate to the new SAPUILandscapeGlobal.xml

thanks for your help. This is absolutly right.

I have done a "classic" installation without Business Client.

Problem / question is solved 🙂
