I tried to replicate the web-service to web-service communication scenario in PI, based on the following link…
http://www.saptechnical.com/Tutorials/XI/WebService2WS/Index.htm
Prior to replicate the above mentioned scenario, I found that there are certain configurations that has to be done in the SAP ECC system prior to executing any scenario. So, I followed instructions based on the following link…
With regards to configuration I took help from various other resources as well, mentioned as under…

https://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce10/helpdata/en/45/2bdafff14003c3e10000000a1553f6/content.htm
I made all possible building block objects in the enterprise service repository and finally was doing the necessary steps in the Integration builder and tried to activate the communication channels
“Unable to check whether communication channel is compatible with selected Adapter Engine since version information for Adapter Engine is missing in the SLD”
I already have created business and technical systems in the system landscape directory. I already did troubleshooting and googling with regards to this issue but problem still persists.
Hi,
You can check once if the message protocol used is SOAP1.1

Hi Naveed,

There is no need any configuration in ECC. The tutorial uses ECC to consume the PI webservice. you can consume the webservice with another tool like SOAPui. or do you need to consume the PI sender channel from the ECC?, if the answer is yes, please you should use ABAP proxy instead of consuming via SOAP.

This is a soap to soap scenario, I would appreciate if anyone of you had an appropriate answer and targeted solution to the problem I've stated, I would prefer to get contacted through the skype my skype Id is naveed.gladstone, so that I am able to share my screen so that one might able to understand the problem effectively.
Please understand the problem before answering it. I created a function module that takes 2 numbers as input and does the addition and retuns the result.
I wrapped the function module into a webservice first and for just testing puposes I tested this service by importing the web service.
Role of SAP PI...
In the Enterprise service repository I created all the objects in it. And finally I configured all objects in the integration builder.
I exposed outbound interface as a web service which will be referenced in the .net application to pass the 2 parameters as input and that would be passed to SAP PI and then behind the scene passed to the SAP ECC system to get processed and return back the result.
Hi Naveed,
It seems that it is a basis issue. Post installation steps to be performed correctly.
Check these threads.
