Hi Expertise,
Please suggest me for:
I want to transfer stock posting without UD for a specific material Group.how can i do it ?? what configuration and settings are required for this?
Thanks & Regards,
Vivek Bhojak
Dear Vivek,
You can do this from inspection lot UD directly.
Go to QA11 and go to "Inspection lot stock" tab. There you can see the quality stock. You can enter the required quantity to be released and save the transaction, without entering any UD details.
This way, the inspection will remain but stock can be released.
Thanks
Prem

Why do you want to skip Usage decision? It seems, Usage Decision is made mandatory in your case. Can you check the message number and description and let us know.
You said, your requirement is to skip Usage decision for a certain Material group? Do you perform Stock posting in this case directly skipping UD code?
Could you elaborate your requirement.
If the Usage decision and Stock posting is not required for a set of Material, but you want to do the results recording, you can untick the Post to Inspection check box from Material Master Quality Management view. By doing so, Stock directly goes to the Unrestricted stock. You can then perform the results recording for the Inspection lot.
Hi Ashok,
My scenario is :
I have inspection lot of 100 qty. for a specific material group (its QC will take 14 days) there i take a sample ,suppose 10 qty.so i want to transfer remaining 90 qty. to another plant with restricted status.
so for this purpose i am thinking:
If i transfer this stock without UD in QA11.so,i can meet my requirement and after 14 days i will complete the UD.but in QA11 UD is mandatory there message is " Please set Valuation code " message no. QV997 please, suggest me how should i map this scenario?

Vivek
Dear Vivek,
If you are holding the stock till quality is released, then why can't you have a material transfer inspection / STO inspection at destination plant?
Is there any specific requirement to hold the stock in Quality in source plant? You can release the stock in source plant, transfer it to destination (receive to QA stock).
Currently you are trying to transfer a Quality inspection lot stock from one plant to another plant, without releasing quality. that's the valuation code (UD Code) error you are getting.
Thanks
Prem
UD's are not required to do stock postings from an inspection lot in standard SAP. It's only if you have implemented a user exit or a status profile to require such.
So I don't think that error message is driectly related to the UD valuation.
But you bring up a good point. Does this stock even need to go to QI if they transfer it routinely. The question would be if this is a one-off event, or if all the material is always transferred all the time.

Hi Prem,
As i told you ,this material takes 14 days in QC process and after that if i deliver to another plant then its take 2 or 3 days in transportation due to this reason get the delay so,client wants to take risk and deliver from 1 plant to another plant with batch restricted status.So,1st i am trying to post the stock with restricted status without completing UD and then will transfer plant to plant in restriction status.
after 14 days will complete UD and move the stock from restricted to unrestricted.
If i have cleared my requirement, then suggest me best way for this.
This is required for a specific material group so, will be required stock posting without UD only for a particular material group.please suggest me what should i do in this case?
BR,
Vivek
Why don't you activate inspection at the plant where you will be receiving the goods? It will fall again in the QI of that plant. In one sense you would be restricting the use unless someone clears it from QI to unrestricted. How the UD of plant A can play role in restricting the use in Plant B?? I am not sure if you can deliver the batch with Restricted status or can perform any movement unless it is in usable status.
I would go with below sequence for this requirement.

You can accomplish this in many ways actually.
Process 1 - just post all stock to UR instead of QI and ship as you normally would. (I.e. untick the "Post to QI stock" in the material master inspection type setup. Do all stock movements like you normally would.
Process 2 - post stock to QI and create an inspection lot. Set up your batch management to create your batches as restricted. Once a lot is created, post the sample stock on sample line and the qty to unrestricted on unrestricted line. This should result in your stock as unrestricted with restricted batch status. This can be shipped on a Stock Transport Order to the other plant but can't be sold. When the UD is done, the UD code can be set up to change the batch status to released. Only works if your at the material or client batch level.
Process 3 - use long term inspection characteristics in your inspection lots. Make a UD on lot with a UD code "OK to ship". Material posted to UR and shipped. Record results on long term characteristics, change UD to "A". This won't prevent sale of material when it gets to second plant.
There are several possible variations of the above processes as well.
My personal preference is #2.

Hi Craig,
Thanks for your reply.
Can you help me,that exactly from which settings or customization i am getting this message " Please set valuation code" Message no. QV997 it is a standard message.there i have checked all possibilities like Status Profile maintaining even there is no user exit.
And what is the use of Usage Indicator in QS41?

Vivek
