Good Day,
We have this information about IQ VLDB option:
"Very Large Database Option. The Very Large Database Option (“VLDB Option”) is licensed per terabyte
of storage inside the main database of Sybase IQ. If you purchase a license for the VLDB Option, the Storage
License must correspond to the amount of storage inside the main database of Sybase IQ, provided the license
for the VLDB Option must, at a minimum, be licensed for a one (1) terabyte Storage License.
You may only use the range partitioning feature of Sybase IQ if you have purchased a license for the VLDB Option."
So, this means that if I have an IQ database of 5Tb used space( or assigned) , then I should license 5TB?
Thank you
Regards
Jose-Miguel
You must license for the allocated (assigned) space of all MAIN dbspaces.
So if you have 5TB allocated but have only used 2TB, you must license for 5TB.
This includes IQ_SYSTEM_MAIN and any other dbspaces that are considered part of IQ MAIN STORE.
You do not have to license IQ_SYSTEM_TEMP, IQ_SHARED_TEMP or a dbspace configured as IQ RLV STORE.

It will also depend on which SAP IQ license you are under, too. In some licenses the VLDB option (and Security) is now included so this would not be an issue.
