Solution Manager SOLAR project - system objects

Dear SolMan experts.

When you document transactions, customizing objects and development objects in project systems via SOLAR business process structure in implementation/upgrade projects - what do you do with them after go-live?

Suppose that they were in documented when Solman was connected to the project systems via LOGON/TRUSTED RFC's.

Do you just change the systems in corresponding logical components to match your maintenance transport route and use the documented objects for maintenance, break-fix and support development and transports? What are some of the common practices?

For this you have logical components with an assigment of technical systems in transaction: SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN. There you can maintain, what are development, test and productive system.

If you finish your project, your solar-project can be used to create a solman "solution", which is designed to handle productive projectes later. I a solution you will find same project structure and business content as in the project.

Kind regards,

Christoph

Hi Viachelav,

You need to create a solution and tranfer the entire project content into it for support post go live of your project.

Further, you can create a maintenance project linked to this solution for maintenance of business processes.

Let us know if you need more inputs.

Thanks

Hi Viacheslav,

The implementation lifecycle using Solution Manager is:

1 - Define your system landscape (development, quality, production systems)

2 - Associate your system landscape to a Logical Component (e.g. for ERP) which comprises all environment rules you set in your system landscape

3 - Define which business scenarios/processes/process steps you will use

4 - Configure the system to enable the business processes

5 - Test/Approve the configurations made

6 - Promote your projects to production. At this point, you will close your implementation project and transfer your business process tree/documentation to a "solution" which is used to monitor how your business process are being performed productively and over time you may encounter some points that require adjustments/enhancements

7 - Create maintenance projects with the branch of business process that need to be change and go back to tem 4 ( items 4-7 will represent your continuous improvement).
