Hi,

I am trying to configure Afaria SP3  for iOS device enrollment ,but I get the error Intermediate certificate required when i install APNS Push Certificate (for Mobile Device Management)

Steps Produced

a)Generated APNS certificate

Generating an APNS Certificate on a Windows Server using IIS Manager

  • Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
  • server certificates
  • goto Create Certificate Request...
  • entered the following information:
  • Common Name –afaria.mobolutions.com and other details
  • Cryptographic Service Provider (Microsoft RSA...). Increase the Bit Length to 2048.  .saved the CSR
  • Downloaded the CSR signed by Sybase Frontline/Pushcert
  • Got the APNS certificate signed by uploading the SCSR file to identity.apple.com/push-cert
  • completed the certificate request via IIS manager, exported the pfx file with password

Obtained the Root and Intermediate certificates, from http://www.apple.com/certificateauthority

  1. In the Apple Root Certificates section,  downloaded the Apple Inc. Root Certificate".
  2. In the Apple Intermediate Certificates section, downloaded  the "Worldwide Developer Relations" certificate.

Installed the APNS certificate using InstallPust cert utility from afaria/bin folder..

Added that APNS certificate to  Afaria

     Afaria admin console>server>configuration>components>iOS notification

  • MDM screen area browsed for the APNS certificate
  • It prompted to add Root certificate and Apple Intermediate certificates ..which I did

But it have the above error:Intermediate certificate Required

Hello Karthik,

Thank you for reaching out to SAP Community Network.

I looked into the steps performed by you for uploading the APNS certificate in Afaria Admin UI.

Please review the KBA: 1842588 - What is the process to follow in order to generate a APNS
certificate from the Apple Push ...

Seems like for the Apple Intermediate certificates, you downloaded the "Worldwide Developer Relations" certificate. Please try downloading the " Application Integration(AAICA) from the Intermediate cert and upload the same in the Admin UI.

This given KBA# will help you to perform the steps accordingly. Do let us know for any further queries. Do let us know the result once performed.

Kind Regards,
Sushmitha
