Convert Inventory Item to Phantom Item

Hi All,

My client wants to convert Inventory item to Phantom Item now there is no stock for this item and this item is also not present in any document but there are transactions made on this item which are closed now while updating as phantom item I am getting this error so my question is :

is it possible to make this item as a phantom.

SAP B1 9.0(9.00.060) PL:8

Hi Amey,

Now you can't change this item into Phantom. Because you have history with respect of this item.

Hello Mohammad,

Thanks for your valuable reply. Later I also checked in SAP B1 help file it says that.

You can change an inventory item to non-inventory, or the opposite, provided that:

• No transactions have been posted for the item
• There are no documents for the item, that is, sales quotation, sales order, purchase order, A/R or A/P down payment request, or draft

So it is not possible to change Inventory item to Phantom item.

Hi Amey,

If any transaction associated with that item you can't change. either purchase order or good receipt.

So you can't change into phantom item. Because SAP B1 Store every Transaction history.

and that item associated with one of the transaction.

why not set it to inactive?
